1.1 Terminology
Circuit testing means detecting that a circuit is not operating to specification, for reasons of logic functionality, operating speed or electrical levels. In most cases, testing serves only to distinguish between "good" circuits, i.e. circuits that can be delivered to the customer, and "bad" circuits, which must be eliminated. In most cases, the exact cause of the malfunction need not be analyzed.
