1.1 Electromagnetic waves

Microwaves or hyperfrequencies are non-ionizing radiations forming part of the electromagnetic spectrum, occupying a frequency band of three decades, from 300 GHz to 300 MHz. The associated wavelengths range from 1 mm to 1 m (figure 1 ).
