 INTRODUCTION

Following on from the general provisions of article [TBA 3 050] , the legislator has established special provisions for the construction of IGH (Immeubles de Grande Hauteur), taking the same themes as for ERP (Établissements Recevant du Public). In fact, some of the chapters take up elements of the fire safety regulations for ERP, or even refer to them.

Compared with the fire regulations for public buildings, the fire regulations for high-rise buildings include aggravations or modifications depending on the situation.

This article presents articles GH 6 to GH 56 concerning provisions on :

  • LOCATION ;

  • building components ;

  • clearances ;

  • elevators.

Additional provisions, i.e. articles GH 57 to GH 66 relating to the obligations of owners and occupants, are set out in article [TBA 3 052] .

Articles GH 67 to GH 74 concern additional provisions relating to the classification of buildings and the independence of volumes located within their rights-of-way. They are presented in article [TBA 3 053] .

Specific provisions for the various classes of high-rise buildings are described at [TBA 3 054] .
