 INTRODUCTION

Following on from the general provisions [TBA 3 050] and the construction rules [TBA 3 051] relating to high-rise buildings (IGH), the legislator has laid down special provisions concerning IGH owners and occupants (articles GH 57 to GH 65). In view of the risk of fire, which can cause major damage and even loss of life, it is necessary to define the obligations of owners and occupants in the following areas:

  • plant maintenance ;

  • setting up evacuation drills ;

  • information for occupants.

Provisions concerning the independence of the various volumes located within the right-of-way of a high-rise building, but also in relation to buildings adjoining it, are set out in article [TBA 3 053] .

Specific provisions for the various classes of buildings are covered in article [TBA 3 054] .
