1. Coffee industry
In 2018, the 14 Mha cultivated for coffee produced 10.3 Mt of dry green coffee. Much of this comes from Brazil, which alone accounts for 37% of world production, but is a major consumer, using 50% of its production for its own use, more than 1.9 Mt. Next come Viet Nam (1.8 Mt), then Colombia (831,000 t) (figure 1 ) .
