4. Sensor size
Initially, cameras were equipped with sensors whose size was as close as possible to film or tube camera standards, with a direct link to the sensor diagonal. While this is still the case today, larger sensors have appeared that can now cover much larger areas. The standard values are presented here, along with some of the out-of-the-ordinary sizes of the new high-speed sensors (table 1 ).
