1.1 Wind farm development
Since the early 2000s, the onshore wind power market in Europe has developed strongly. In France, the mid-2000s saw a boom in wind farm construction.
At the end of 2019, installed onshore wind power capacity in France exceeded 16 GW. Over the next 10 years, annual growth in onshore wind power capacity is expected to exceed 2 GW, corresponding to the commissioning of around 600 to 700 additional wind turbines each year.
