5. Geotechnical investigations
In order to assess the geotechnical site conditions and geological risks, and to define the characteristic values of the geotechnical design parameters, a geotechnical investigation program at the site of each wind turbine in a wind farm is a prerequisite for the pre-project (G2-AVP) and then project (G2-PRO) geotechnical design missions, as defined in standard NF P 94 500 of November 2013.

The definition of the geotechnical investigation campaign is based on prior bibliographical knowledge of the site:
BRGM 1:50,000 geological map;
BRGM hydrogeological map;
public mapping (clay/cavity/water table rise, seismicity, etc.);
boreholes available locally in the BSS subsoil database, maintained by...
