4.1 Geology of France
In relation to the average wind map, energy needs and land-use conditions (and in particular low population density), the main areas favorable to the construction of wind farms in France are :
the Paris Basin in the geological sense (from Normandy in the west to the Vosges in the east and from the Centre Val de Loire region in the south to the Hauts-de-France region in the north);
Brittany ;
La Marche (north of the Aquitaine Basin);
Rhône Valley and Côte du Languedoc.
