Double-phase (DP) steels
Double-phase steels have a microstructure consisting of ferrite and martensite, and sometimes a little bainite (figure 1 ). The level of maximum tensile strength depends on the volume fraction of martensite: the higher the fraction, the higher the tensile strength.
