6. Criminal and administrative penalties

The French Environment Code provides for specific criminal or administrative fines in the event of failure to comply with the legal and regulatory rules it contains. These financial penalties are indicated in this Engineering Techniques article in the relevant paragraphs when the decrees implementing the February 10, 2020 anti-waste and circular economy law have been published.

This article in Techniques de l'ingénieur is current as of July 4, 2021. Decrees issued after this date may provide for new penalties.

6.1 Traffic fines

Contraventions are offenses punishable by law by a fine not exceeding 3,000 euros (C. pénal, art. 131-13).
