3. Different types of equipment

When inventorying equipment in a laboratory, several types can be referenced according to the following main families:

  • reference/working standards ;

  • measuring or monitoring instruments ;

  • analysis or test equipment ;

  • intermediate equipment ;

  • small materials and other equipment ;

  • computerized means.

This list is by no means exhaustive, even though it covers most of the types of equipment currently referenced in testing or analysis laboratories complying with the ISO 17025 -2017.
