4. Equipment use

4.1 Use

As part of the management of its equipment according to the ISO 17025 -2017, a laboratory needs to control the use of its equipment.

The metrological capability of a piece of equipment also lies in the way it is used. All users must be trained in the use of the equipment to ensure that the risk of equipment misalignment is very low. This training must be both theoretical and practical: it's what we call empowerment or personnel qualification.

Example

an operator needs to know how to "calibrate" his scales, where to place a thermometer so that it gives a representative measurement, and where to weigh to avoid load eccentricity...
