6. Obtaining an authorization to market (AMEC)
The commercial operation of a new or substantially modified vehicle is subject to an authorization for commercial operation (AMEC) issued by EPSF, based on the applicant's demonstration that the safety and, where applicable, interoperability requirements for the vehicle have been met. The integration of any new equipment on the national rail network (RFN), or the evolution of any existing equipment already included in the RFN, must be carried out in such a way as to enable the overall level of safety of the RFN to be maintained at all times. Consequently, it is the responsibility of the AMEC applicant to produce files setting out how he or she undertakes to comply with safety regulations.
