3. Unclassified foundries
For facilities not subject to classified facility legislation , the French Public Health Code applies (articles R. 1337-6 to R. 1337-10). .
These articles stipulate that "the fact of being at the origin of a particular noise, other than those covered by article R. 1337-6, of such a nature as to be detrimental to the tranquillity of the neighbourhood or to human health under the conditions set out in article R. 1337-5, is punishable by the fine laid down for third-class offences".
