7. GPRS session management

GPRS session management includes all the signaling functions required to access an external packet network, either another GPRS network or the Internet.

7.1 Interworking with IP networks

GPRS networks can communicate with networks using the Internet protocol [15] , whether the Internet itself or corporate intranets. GPRS communicates with both IP version 4 (IPv4) and IP version 6 (IPv6) networks. The access point to the network outside the GPRS network is the GGSN, which is seen by the outside network as a regular IP router.
