4. Fundamental technical choices
The choice of major technical orientations has a lasting impact on the future development of MV networks, and consequently on power quality levels. Most of the major technical orientations are decided well in advance of the MV network master plan study. These choices, which have considerable economic implications, also define the size ranges of the various components and the characteristics of the equipment to be used on MV networks and in source substations.
