
2. Obtaining postbiotics
Heat treatments are the most widely used. The oldest postbiotic, Lactobacillus LB, was obtained by heating for one hour at 110°C . Today, pasteurization and tyndallization are the most commonly used techniques, but other methods can also be used: sonication, gamma or ultraviolet rays, lysis, high pressure, spray drying or chemical drying (formalin) (figure 1 ).
