3. Impact of environmental parameters on cell kinetics
Optimizing animal cell culture processes requires a better understanding of the interactions between cells and their environment within the reactor. Indeed, depending on the choice of operating parameters that determine this environment, the cell modifies its behavior (proliferation or death rates, morphology, metabolism, production and maturation capacities of the molecules produced). These operating parameters are manifold: reactor feed mode, culture system, medium composition, physico-chemical factors (figure 1 ).
