5. Maintenance of measuring equipment
5.1 Preamble
To guarantee the quality of measurement results, whether in product testing or manufacturing, it is essential that :
the measuring equipment is maintained in perfect working order;
all metrological characteristics are checked and/or calibrated after corrective maintenance.
These metrological operations must ensure traceability [in the documentary and technical sense to meet the requirements of standards (e.g. NF EN ISO 9001, FD ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, NF EN ISO/CEI 17025, NF EN ISO 10012, etc.)].
If metrology is an instrument of quality, maintenance is an indispensable link in the chain.
