7. Automated measurement
Automated measurement is an indispensable practice, which today helps to minimize human error and reduce measurement times. On the other hand, it carries a number of risks, in particular that of focusing on user-friendliness and the presentation of results, to the detriment of the measurement method itself. Just because a result is given at 1/1,000 doesn't mean that the accuracy of the measurement is at that level.
First and foremost, a good knowledge of measurement is needed to develop the software, the key points of which are outlined in Box 2.
