6. Rules of use
All machines must be tested for suitability for use by the manufacturer before or at the time of commissioning by the customer-user.
On commissioning, the operator is responsible for checking that the crane is suitable for the order, and for carrying out a test run. Together with comments on the documentation provided, a qualified person, authorized by the manufacturer, gives the crane operator(s) and other persons concerned (mechanic(s), equipment manager(s), maintenance manager(s), etc.) all the information they need to operate the crane safely, and to maintain it. It is often necessary to demonstrate the crane's use and verify the operator's ability to drive it, including on the first site(s).
