2. Different types of equipment

2.1 Tracked machines

Maximum loads range from around 15 t to 2,000 t. The latter are rare and have to be transported in separate units to job sites, where they perform very specific tasks.

These lattice boom cranes are used on poorly-developed sites, where ground pressure must be low (0.1 to 1.5 kg/cm 2 ). Movements are short (a few hundred meters at most), at low speed (5 km/h unloaded, 0 to 2 km/h loaded on level ground). With the exception of cranes with a capacity of over 100 t, chassis are often used for earthmoving equipment (e.g. hydraulic shovels), which are produced in larger quantities than cranes.
