The choice of a crane depends on the type of machine and its performance.

Types of work to be carried out according to the criteria taken into account for crane classification :
intensive use, heavy or medium loads but with sudden dynamic overloads: electromagnet, clamshell bucket, grapple... ;
intensive use, medium loads: concrete bucket... ;
intensive use, variable or regular loads in intermittent service, moderate/low loads: installation of prefabricated panels, framing, erection of pylons... ;
irregular use, variable but often heavy loads: assembly/disassembly of heavy equipment (tower cranes, large hydraulic shovels, crushing plants, concrete mixing plants, etc.);
