FrançaisABSTRACT
Logistic dimensioning is used by industrialists, providers and logistic operators in the basic preliminary project and detailed in order to assess the needs of a future system. It belongs to the tactical planning for peripheral equipment and resources needs. The methodological and practical basis are presented in order to conduct a study of logistic dimensioning through static simulation. This presentation is illustrated by a concrete application case.

INTRODUCTION
Logistics dimensioning is used by manufacturers and logistics service providers or operators in the preliminary and detailed design phases to determine the requirements of a future system. It is used at the strategic planning level for structural equipment, and at the tactical planning level for peripheral equipment and resource requirements.
To date, there is no standardized methodology or concept: some companies have built up their own reference systems based on their own experience, and some engineering or logistics/transport schools offer courses in flow dimensioning and simulation. In recent years, simulation software has become easier to use, and companies are increasingly turning to it.
The aim of this article is to provide the reader with a methodological and practical basis for carrying out a logistical dimensioning study using static simulation.
First of all, we'll look at the general aspects of dimensioning, to situate the study within the company's project and understand the ins and outs.
The second part presents the entire approach.
The third part develops a practical methodology for sizing a specific site or worksite.
A case study will be presented in part four.
