5. Thermochemistry of ionic liquids in liquid and gas phases

Using constant-volume combustion calorimetry, Zhang et al. measured the standard enthalpy of formation at 298.15 K of the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethylium sulfate (EMIES) and found it equal to –579.13 ± 0.51 kJ mol –1 . Specific heat and entropy are also available for this ionic liquid. An experimental value of 206.2 ± 2.5 kJ mol –1 is reported for 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyanamide by Emel'yanenko et al.
