8. Sober production
Whenever we reduce water consumption and waste from a process without having to resort to end-of-pipe treatment, we use a low-cost technology known as "clean technology".
Sober techniques, in the broadest sense of the term, are an intelligent and economical way of producing. Controlling pollution flows upstream not only limits pollution at source, but also enables raw materials and energy to be used as rationally as possible. Some small-scale investments can be very worthwhile from an economic and environmental point of view. However, such investments can be very costly, but they can also reduce operating costs.
