5. Modification of operating conditions
The "life" of a classified facility is made up of extensions or reductions in activity, interruptions or transfers of activity. The legislator has provided a simple legal solution to these situations encountered by existing facilities: "the operator must renew his application for authorization, his application for registration or his declaration either in the event of a transfer, or in the event of an extension or transformation of his facilities, or a change in his manufacturing processes, resulting in hazards or inconveniences" for the protection of the environment. However, a closer look at the regulations reveals that the legal consequences of these situations are not the same.
