7. Changes in the plant environment

We often find that former industrial facilities, which were originally located on the outskirts of towns, now find themselves "surrounded" by housing. The evolution of town planning regulations must be taken into account in the "life" of the facility, as must the acceptability of the industrial site in its environment, to avoid many inconveniences for the operator.

7.1 Evolving urban planning rules

A local urban development plan (PLU) cannot prohibit the continuation of the activities of an existing classified facility, nor can it make existing activities or structures illegal.

However, the content of the local urban development plan is not dependent on the land use plan (POS) that may have existed previously.
