There are two types of jurisdiction:

the judiciary, which is responsible for settling disputes between private individuals and punishing those who break criminal law. This order comprises two categories of jurisdiction:
civil courts (which do not impose penalties, but settle family and consumer disputes, etc.),
the criminal courts, which punish offences against persons, property and society;
