3. Capping bottles and crimping cans

3.1 Capping

Capping is the final operation in the bottling of liquid foodstuffs.

It will be conditioned by four parameters:

  • nature of the materials used to make the plug ;

  • type of container to be capped and, in particular, its ring;

  • tolerances and characteristics of the cap, ring and capping operations ;

  • cap application.
