1.1 What is a design of experiments?
This is the plan for organizing experimental trials with the aim of determining the behavior of the result (response) based on the variation of selected factors. A good experimental design allows for a significant reduction in the number of trials, while providing good precision in determining the results. To achieve a good experimental design, the following steps must be followed.
• Formalizing the problem. To do this, it is necessary to gather as much information as possible on the phenomenon under study, so as to define the factors to be varied and their level of variation. Indeed, the success of the experimental design depends on a good knowledge of the acceptable limits of variation of the factors. To this end, a series...
