5. Case study 3: Improving anti-vibration decoupling

This third example is taken from the railway sector. We were called in by the RATP to remedy frequent failures affecting the supports of magnetic signalling sensors installed as cantilevers on rolling stock bogies; it should be noted that this failure occurred despite the expected filtering effect of the mechanical decouplings (elastomer rings) interposed between the body of the bogie and the sensor support beam (figure 15 ).
