1. Reasons for outsourcing

Extract from NF EN ISO/CEI 17025, § 4.5.1 :

"...When a laboratory subcontracts work, either due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. volume of work, need for additional technical knowledge or momentary incapacity), or on an ongoing basis (e.g. under permanent subcontracting, agency or franchise agreements), the work in question must be entrusted to a competent subcontractor.

A subcontractor is deemed competent when, for example, it complies with this International Standard for the work in question..."

In all cases, the customer concerned must be informed in writing of the subcontracting arrangements and must give his consent, preferably in writing.

This agreement may be ad hoc or definitive (in the case of systematic subcontracting). It must be included...
