4. Comparison of bonding, lamination and polyester sealants

ITW Plexus, a manufacturer of methacrylate adhesives, has carried out an interesting study on the assembly of stiffeners on hulls , to demonstrate the superiority of bonding with its adhesives, by assembling stiffeners of the shape shown in figure 5 with several systems: lamination, bonding with Plexus MA 425 methacrylate adhesive, or bonding with commercially available filled polyester mastics (references B 39 and B 60).
