1. Freight transport and people mobility
1.1 Definitions
Mobility means the ability to move around to perform an activity. It therefore seems rather appropriate for people who have the intrinsic ability to be more or less mobile. Moving from one mode to another, or to the last (kilo-hecto) metre, can be done autonomously (without a vehicle/energy), but still requires infrastructure and information. We propose to speak of people mobility. Mobility, being managed by a person, implies that the latter is trained in the use of a vehicle (bike, car or his own body) and infrastructure, aware and able to perform complex tasks, able to manage codes and information displayed on infrastructure and, increasingly, to use digital assistants.
