12. Conclusion

The physico-chemical characteristics that lead a given substance to be active, inactive or toxic, or to present undesirable effects, are now well known to pharmacochemists who synthesize new drug molecules, or carry out pharmacomodulations of existing structures. In addition to problems of stereochemistry, solubility in aqueous or lipid media, and ionization, the ability of molecules to form bonds with macromolecules in living tissue must also be taken into account, not forgetting their ability to adopt different conformations. These numerous manifestations of chemical reactivity are at the root of a better understanding of the biochemical phenomena governing the pharmacological activity of any molecule: a good understanding of drugs requires a good understanding of their active ingredients.

The analysis of these different elements has made it possible to provide...
