1.1 Earthquake resistance of heat exchangers

Heat exchangers are mechanical components used to transfer energy between fluid circuits. Found in energy production facilities (nuclear power plants, oil refineries, etc.) or production facilities (chemical plants, seawater desalination, etc.), they are made up of a set of tubes immersed in a fluid, integrated into a resistant casing and supported by retaining plates (figure 1 ).
