1.1 Definition

Augmented reality combines a range of technologies and scientific fields, which sometimes makes it difficult to come up with a strict definition shared by all stakeholders. Without going into classification details, which can be consulted in the article by Mallen et al. [TE 520] , we'll stick to the simple definition given by Azuma : "Augmented reality enables a user to perceive the real world augmented by interactive virtual elements".
