4. Photovoltaic function
To conclude this article, this section will describe a type of functionalization that has only been studied for a few years and aims to confer an energy production function to the building envelope. Two distinct ways of functionalizing concrete are presented to obtain a photovoltaic façade.
4.1 Integrating photovoltaic film into concrete
As a proportion of overall energy consumption is used to heat and/or cool buildings, improving thermal insulation and generating renewable energies are seen as the main levers for reducing the environmental impact of buildings (mainly their carbon footprint)
