In France, according to figure 3 , although the aerospace and energy industries are placing great emphasis on developing hot corrosion-resistant components, very little French work has been published and shared. To date, as infrastructure operating temperatures rise and the atmosphere within them becomes increasingly aggressive, several French manufacturers from all sectors have identified degradation mechanisms that are still poorly understood and little studied, such as :

  • assessment of hot corrosion resistance according to the chemical composition of the salts and the gaseous medium;

  • study of the effects of gas velocity, pressure, erosion and exposure gradient;...
