5. Hot corrosion bench classification

Six different facilities dedicated to hot corrosion testing using molten deposits have been identified:

  • tube furnace with/without controlled atmosphere ;

  • gas burner bench without controlled atmosphere mainly used for shock and thermal cycling tests;

  • liquid fuel (kerosene or fuel oil) burner rig with high gas flow and injection of corrosive/erosive products used for shock testing and thermal cycling – High velocity burner rig ;

  • liquid fuel (kerosene or fuel oil) burner rig with low gas flow and controlled atmosphere – Low velocity burner rig ;

  • low-gas-flow, high-pressure, controlled-atmosphere liquid-fuel (kerosene or fuel oil) burner rig – High pressure burner rig ;
