6. Dirt retention in etching systems

This section deals only with dross retention systems based on the settling effect.

With regard to the retention of impurities by filtration devices placed within the casting systems, the reader is referred to the [ ].

6.1 Dross relative density and flow regime

Retention of dross by horizontal or slightly inclined channels is possible to a certain extent, but the problem is all the more delicate and costly, from the point of view of the mass of returns, the higher the metallostatic load and the larger the cross-section of the channels.
