2. Missions

Its articles of association define CIE as a voluntary organization with the following objectives:

  • to constitute an international study center for all matters relating to the science, technology and art of light and lighting, and for the exchange of information between countries in these fields;

  • develop basic metrology standards and methods;

  • to provide guidelines for the application of principles and methods for the development of international and national standards;

  • to prepare and publish standards, reports and other texts concerning all matters relating to science, technology and art in the fields of light and lighting;

  • maintain liaison and technical collaboration with other international organizations concerned...
