5. Meetings

Every four years, the CIE organizes a session in one of the member countries that has invited it. These sessions are very useful because they bring together all the representatives of national committees who have an interest in the Commission's technical activities. The sessions include the presentation of papers, as well as meetings of divisions and technical committees. The General Assembly meets during sessions to: review and discuss the administrative and technical affairs of the CIE, establish plans for the future and elect officers. The Board usually meets once a year, the Divisions annually, and as often as necessary to achieve their objectives. In addition, the Divisions are encouraged to sponsor symposia or other meetings, especially in cooperation with other international bodies that can assist the further work of the CIE.
