7.1 Lice
Pediculosis is a parasitosis, linked to a living organism that feeds and reproduces thanks to a host, in this case man, the exclusive host. Pediculosis is unpleasant because of the pruritus it generates. A distinction is made between head lice and body lice. Pediculosis is a contagious but benign parasitosis that affects 10% to 20% of children aged 3 to 11. It is particularly prevalent in children's communities such as schools and nurseries. Infestation by head lice occurs through direct contact, as lice can neither fly (they are apterous insects) nor jump. Head lice have 3 pairs of legs, enabling them to move quickly.
