Overview
ABSTRACT
Methods and materials for the application of paint have greatly evolved over recent years, notably in order to comply with the regulation on the emission of solvents during their implementation. This article reviews these techniques, be they traditional or more innovative, their characteristics, their advantages and drawbacks. From pneumatic or electrostatic spraying up to the application by fluidized bed and including the cataphoretic or autophoretic dip coating, the technique sometimes requires the addition of specific additives according to the nature of the support. Applications of paints thus become more time and cost efficient.

INTRODUCTION
Paint development on the one hand, and regulations on the other, have forced equipment manufacturers to develop increasingly efficient application techniques. A wide range of equipment is currently available on the market to enable users to reduce solvent emissions during paint application.
It should be noted that the development of this equipment was made possible by a partnership between paint manufacturers and application equipment designers.
