3. Application of liquid dip paints

3.1 Traditional dip

This simple-to-use technique involves depositing an organic coating (paint) by dipping and emersing metal parts in a suitably sized tank.

To ensure reproducibility of application, the paint bath must be maintained throughout the operation.

  • The technical requirements for optimizing the application are summarized by the following parameters, which must be monitored when using this technique:

    • check that parts are immersed and ejected smoothly and at a constant speed;

    • regulate bath temperature at a constant value during application;

    • agitate the paint bath mechanically and regularly,...
