Hand dishwashing covers all surfaces of household items used in the kitchen, such as plates, cutlery, dishes, pots and pans, glassware, etc. The composition of these items is also highly varied. They may be polar or non-polar surfaces such as metals (aluminum, stainless steel, silver, tin...), silica, wood, polymeric materials (polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon, polyethylene terephthalate...) whose surface energies can vary considerably. Each of these surfaces will require more or less attention, depending on its quality. For example, crystal glasses will need to be treated with greater care than ordinary glasses; precious porcelain plates will need to be treated with greater care than ordinary porcelain plates; silver cutlery will need to be treated with greater care than stainless steel cutlery......
