ABSTRACT
This article first describes transport container formats, encapsulating digital media content to distribute it either over short links (AES, SDI, HDMI), or over digital networks for broadcast or telecoms (TS, DVB, IP). The article then details “mega file formats” in the professional domain, which may wrap several media and formats (AAF, MXF), or assemble files in a cluster for digital cinema (DCDM, DCP, IMF).
